I go to Rochdale college on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We always eat lunch, without fail, in Subway (I know all the staff and popular customers now). We always have, without fail, the window seat (the very seat you were sat in I have sat in around 80 times). There always is, without fail, inbreds and freaks of every description walking by (not to mention all the guptas; yes, I am a racist, along with every other white citizen of Rochdale).

Of all the strange memories of the views from that very window, there is one thing I will never forget. There was this tramp about two months ago who had the usual scruffy clothing walking down the road right where you had your camera pointing. He had ripped, dirty pants with an old, dirty tracksuit zip-up top.

The zip on his top was not all the way up, nor was it all the way down, it was half way. Resting on the top of the zip was a doll’s head. He was walking, with fair pace, with a doll peering out of his top.

It is highly unlikely that myself, James and Chris (fellow subwayers) will ever forget that for the rest of our lives. T’was the hardest I’d laughed for an awful long time.

There’re some serious not-rights in Rochdale.
